The National Architecture Office (N.A.O) is a newly formed New Zealand architecture practice based out of Christchurch bringing together the individual and collective skills of the directors Bruce Taylor, Carl Pickering and Nick Taylor.

The collaboration of these skills represents a diverse knowledge base, Bruce Taylor has been involved in the construction industry for over 40 years and has covered projects from overseas in UK, USA and Africa, Bruce has unparalleled experience in design, documentation and delivery of complex architectural projects. Carl Pickering has worked in the building industry for the last twenty years and his current role utilizes his strong interest in systems and strategies to aid the efficiency of the documentation and construction processes. Nick Taylor recently returned from more than a decade in Australia to join and develop his father’s architectural practice. With a Masters of Architecture from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and experience working on Melbourne’s Yarra Arts Precinct, One East Melbourne, Perth water front expansion and Knox City Council development projects, studying and working overseas has given Nick a different design techniques, approaches, and understanding of architectures possibilities and limitations.

Ramada Suites Tuam Street represents an opportunity for N.A.O to bring these collaborative skills together create a team that aims to promote professional and modern architectural design practices for the 21st century and a project that interacts and engages with the strong history of Christchurch architecture drawing upon local and international influences to create a unique building, in a new growth area, for the future of Christchurch city.
